Fabric & Drape Guide

How each fabric moves — and what that means for your fit.

🪷
Silk & Georgette
Sarees · Blouses · Dresses
Silk drapes fluidly and clings gently to the body. Georgette is lighter and adds movement. Both tend to show the silhouette more clearly — consider sizing up if you prefer a relaxed feel.
Size up for ease
🌿
Cotton & Linen
Kurta Sets · Co-ords · Dresses
Cotton and linen have a natural body that holds structure. They breathe well but may feel slightly stiff initially. These fabrics soften and relax marginally after washing — true to size works best.
True to size
Banarasi & Brocade
Sarees · Lehengas · Blouses
Heavily woven fabrics with zari work have no stretch and a structured fall. The weight of the fabric creates a regal, voluminous drape. Blouses in brocade should be measured precisely — no ease is built in.
Measure precisely
🌸
Chanderi & Organza
Sarees · Dupattas · Kurtas
Sheer, lightweight fabrics that float. Chanderi has a soft sheen while organza is crisp. Both have minimal stretch. These fabrics drape beautifully but are unforgiving — precise measurements give the best result.
Precise fit essential
🧶
Handwoven & Khadi
Kurta Sets · Co-ords · Sarees
Handwoven fabrics have texture and character. Khadi is slightly heavier and may have slight irregularities — a mark of authenticity. These fabrics relax gently over time. We recommend sizing as usual with a little ease.
Add slight ease
💫
Chiffon & Crepe
Dresses · Blouses · Dupattas
Chiffon is airy and transparent — it layers beautifully and moves with you. Crepe has a matte surface and a slight stretch that is very forgiving. Both are excellent for a flattering, effortless look.
Forgiving fit

Body Shape Style Guide

Find the silhouettes that celebrate your shape most beautifully.

Hourglass
Fitted kurtas Wrap dresses Bodycon
Balanced bust and hip with a defined waist. Most silhouettes suit you — celebrate your waist with fitted kurtas or wrap-style lehengas.
Pear
A-line lehengas Flared kurtas Boat necks
Narrower shoulders, fuller hips. Choose A-line skirts to skim your hips gracefully and embellished blouses or cholis to balance the silhouette.
Apple
Empire waist Anarkali Flowy drapes
Fuller through the middle. Empire-waist Anarkalis and flowing saree drapes are your best friends — they elongate the torso and drape beautifully.
Rectangle
Peplum tops Belted kurtas Ruched styles
Shoulders, waist and hips in similar proportion. Add dimension with peplum blouses, cinched waists and layered dupattas to create curves.
Inverted Triangle
Full lehenga skirts Palazzo co-ords V-necks
Broader shoulders, narrower hips. Balance with voluminous lehenga skirts and palazzo pants. V-necklines and minimal blouse embellishment keep the look proportional.

How to Measure

Use a soft measuring tape. Measure directly on the body, not over clothing.
